Celebrating 35 Years: Preservation Management Inc.’s Path Forward
Posted by: Preservation Management, Inc. in Uncategorized on May 6, 2025

As Preservation Management Inc. grows and expands its organization, the departments essential to running the business effectively must also grow and expand to meet the new demands and expectations. Below, some essential departments explain how they have developed over time.
Growing Stronger Communities: Resident Service Coordinators Department
Tina Lysogorski, Director of Resident Services, along with the entire RSC department, was excited to welcome a new team member to the PMI family. The RSC department has seen remarkable growth throughout 2024, a trend that has continued into the new year with the addition of six new properties to the RSC portfolio, a clear testament to the ongoing expansion.
As the RSC department continues to grow, they continue to implement changes that will strengthen and support all team members. Last year, the RSC department introduced a dedicated training mentor who has been providing valuable guidance and support. This role not only assists the current RSCs but also ensures that every new team member receives comprehensive training and ongoing check-ins throughout their first year, alongside their Team Lead. Additionally, the training mentor oversees any properties with RSC vacancies, keeping systems up to date so that new RSCs can seamlessly step in without the stress of playing catch up.
With growth comes the responsibility to maintain consistency and establish procedures that enhance the RSC’s support systems. By doing so, they are building a stronger, more efficient department, one that is fully prepared to take on whatever the future holds.
The Development of Practices in a Growing Organization: Accounting Department
Kevin Tait, Vice President of Finance and Accounting, is proud of the team’s ability to maintain its dynamics despite recent growth changes in the accounting department. He has seen an increase in size; however, the turnover rate has been low, allowing the team to foster a cohesive environment over the course of recent years.
The accounting department has not only grown in size but has also developed new positions. The titles of the new positions are as follows, Accounting Manager, Corporate Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, Senior AP Specialist and Financial Analyst. This expansion provides team members with opportunities to advance their careers at PMI by taking on new challenges and responsibilities.
Several recurring processes have been updated to enhance organization and efficiency within the department. These updates include Monthly Financial Reviews, Property Advancement Checklist, Budget Process (more streamlined on the accounting side to begin our template creation), utility reimbursements have changed from checks to prepaid cards and credit card reporting has changed from TD to Concur. The changes will not only result in time-saving benefits but also enhance productivity, thereby enhancing the efficiency of financial management within the department.
Elevating Safety & Risk Management: Cultivating Stronger Organizational Practices
Shari, Letourneau, Facilities Support and Insurance Claims Manager, has been making significant strides in the improvement of safety and risk management practices for PMI to implement. Some of the changes she has implemented are below:
- Monthly trainings were created to explain the safety program and how to complete the monthly assessment reports, one regarding managing liability and property damage risks, and one on how to complete an incident report.
- A partnership was formed with Shoes for Crews to bring employees a wide variety of safe shoes.
- Prior to Shari’s involvement in this role the Violence Prevention Committee was formed in accordance with the Safety Steering Committee to minimize and address violent crime incidents on the properties. Shari has continued efforts in the importance of these committees and emphasizes the ability that these committees have to protect the residents and minimize violence at the properties.
- Alongside Melissa Deatherage, Director of Training and Engagement, Shari obtained certificates in MANDT training and will be offering de-escalation training for employees at upcoming regional meetings.
Shari’s ongoing efforts have not only enhanced the safety culture within the company but have also fostered a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring that employees are better equipped to report and handle potential hazards and incidents.
