PMI (Preservation Management, Inc.) has deep roots in Maine, with a strong commitment to affordable housing. As PMI expanded, their focus remained on providing safe, quality housing. While prioritizing the well-being of residents. Whether through maintenance, safety measures, or community support, PMI continues to build on its mission, ensuring residents feel secure and valued.

Roots of Hope: The Beginning of PMI

PMI’s journey began in 1991 with its first affordable properties. Academy Green, Brookside Village, and Quarry Ridge. All located in Maine. These early acquisitions laid the foundation for PMI’s mission to provide affordable, quality housing and build stronger communities. Today, those first properties remain a symbol of hope and opportunity, reflecting the company’s commitment to making a lasting impact.

Built on Community: Branching out in Maine

Rooted in Maine, in 1996, PMI branched into its first market-rate units at Bow Street and Maplewood Terrace. PMI is committed to building strong and vibrant communities across the state, fostering connections, and creating spaces that truly feel like home for all residents.

Broadening Our Reach: Exploring New Opportunities

In 2001, PMI expanded its portfolio by exploring opportunities in new states such as New Hampshire and Maryland. While the original properties are no longer part of our portfolio, our expansion into these new areas positioned us for more opportunities and long-term growth.

Constructing Dreams: Shaping PMI’s Future

In 2004, we ventured to additional locations in the Northeast and West, including Harbor Lights and Stevens Green in Maine, as well as Pineview Apartments and Warren Plaza in Michigan. Since then, PMI has continued to expand its presence into several new states Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virgina. This enabled us to diversify and strengthen our portfolio, all while maintaining our commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces for our residents—shaping a future built on community and care.
